Our Story
MISSION STATEMENT
The Boston Lymphatic Center provides compassionate care and advocacy for individuals with lymphatic disorders while uniting health care providers and researchers from all disciplines to advance our knowledge of lymphatic disease and therapy.
Our History
In the fall of 2016, our team at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center set out to build a world-class lymphatic center. This work culminated into the development of the Boston Lymphatic Center in 2020, a joint program between Boston Children’s Hospital and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and an accredited Comprehensive Center of Excellence.
Dr. Dhruv Singhal (Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center) and Dr. Arin Greene (Boston Children’s Hospital) serve as the Center’s Co-Directors. The defining feature of the Center is the multi-disciplinary team-based approach involving specialists in plastic surgery, cardiology, physical therapy, radiology, and interventional radiology. The Center has evaluated over 3,500 new patients in its first eight years and has been awarded over $8M in federal funding in that same time period to advance research on disorders of the lymphatic system.
What is the Boston Lymphatic Symposium (BLS)?
The Boston Lymphatic Symposium was established to lead the educational mission of the Center. The annual symposium hosts Clinical and Patient Symposia. This event offers a platform for sharing the latest advances in lymphatic care, featuring presentations from global leaders in the field. As the field continues to grow, we remain dedicated to fostering a community where both clinicians and patients have access to the most advanced and up-to-date treatments for those suffering with lymphatic disease.
